I installed leopard the other day (rocks btw, still has some bugs in it). But I went to partition the drive, thinking it would keep the data (I guess i need to read more), and it formatted my HD, I lost EVERYTHING I had on that comp. Including My Website, A site Monitor Project and a super secret project (sorry, can't tell, yet), A Database Editor Project (never got far). I Lost all the PSD's and Coding, oh and about 50 realbasic projects, one of which I had spent about 4 months on.

So, I have photoshop re-installed, and some plain apps that I need, and, I am now re-designing my website (different look, needs lots of work though...)

Anyone care to share their horror stories?

One of my hdds broke about a year ago. I had recently formatted the pc, and then the hdd that I had saved all my stuff was the one that broke... I had pretty much stuff on it and I got pretty pissed. But I didn't really have anything important on it.

It's never fun when a hdd breaks. So much stuff just disappears.

I also have the problem that when formatting, theres always something that I forget to save. Last time I forgot all my Photoshop brushes and whatever. Another time I forgot all my school things, and once all my game saves.

I had it when installing Linux, I partitioned the drives wrong and it all went downhill from there.. didn't lose much, apart from the fact I had to redownload my entire collection of music.

DVD backups and RAID = win.

I overclocked my old comp and it blew up.
Dunno if I knew it was going to happen or what because the night before I backed everything but 2000 songs.
So all I lost were my 2000 songs. I'm still catching up on them. Gah!

And unlucky itunes lol

Yeah i lost my whole backup drive because it broke (dw i got it refunded :D).
So i had about 40-50 movies to replace and 7000 tunes, and about 1 month later i had it all good again.
